Where: Richmond Art Center, 2540 Barrett Avenue, Richmond, CA; Wheelchair accessible, free parking, BART accessible.
Ages: All Ages (under 12 must be accompanied by an adult)
Cost: FREE

The Richmond Art Center's maker festival for the whole family to create, see and learn about the art of upcycling -- creatively re-using materials otherwise headed for the landfill.

Make, see & learn about upcycling through these hands-on activities! 1:00 - 4:00 pm
+ Sew bags & quilts from T-shirts with Fern Royce & Catherine Durand
+ Create a colorful mosaic trash can with Daud Abdullah
+ Use bicycle inner tubes to make jewelry with Holly Carter
+ Experience the magic of fire and metal to fold-form 3-D objects with Ed Lay
+ Craft a crazy, fantastical paper hat or crown with Kiki Rostad
+ Assemble a cardboard sculpture with Lauren Ari
+ Paint a cardboard masterpiece with Lisa di Prima
+ Make amazing robots with the folks from California 4-H Foundation
+ Weave a rag rugs from T-shirts with Susan Sterling
