DROP-IN POLICY: Per day drop-ins are allowed in some adult classes with the consent of the instructor or where noted in the description. Students may drop-in ONLY 3 times before they are required to purchase a half or full class (no other fractional classes allowed), unless otherwise noted.

Please Note: Ceramics course fees include a $10 lab fee, but do not include tools (which vary by class) or clay, which is sold for $10 per 25-lb. bag.

You can do it! Learn to use the potter's wheel to make mugs, bowls, plates and more. Fundamentals of glazing and design problems unique to ceramics will be covered. Experienced potters will sharpen their skills and explore larger, more difficult forms. Please wear tennis shoes and bring a small towel.

Geared toward the intermediate/advanced potter, this class will cover techniques for creating vases, cups, bowls and platters. Focus will be on altering wheel-thrown forms, high-temperature glazing and throwing tall cylinders of up to 25 lbs.

Take advantage of the Center's well-equipped ceramics facility to work on your own projects. Students may use the studio during the hours listed for a maximum of 3 hours per week. Prerequisite: Must have taken one ceramics class at RAC in the last year. Not intended for production work. Day drop-ins not allowed.

Create vibrant monotype prints using only potter’s clays and pure pigments with this unique and innovative process. Make a clay slab and build up several layers of colored slips and pull multiple prints. $30 materials fee includes a reusable plywood board. Hand tools only. Supply list is available.

introduction to doll making   

Phoebe Ackley

Learn to make a unique doll in this weekend workshop. Start by making heads, hands and feet from polymer clay and then construct the body, giving it shape and form. The final stage will be costumes and all the fun details! Techniques will be demonstrated. Bring in your favorite small pieces of fabric, trim and broken jewelry. Basic materials provided including clay, glue, wire and lots of help. You provide the vision.

Be inspired by special guests legacy artist David Kuraoka, Jane McDonald, and others. Experiment with different techniques including horse hair, saggar and naked raku. Lectures and demonstrations throughout the day ending with a raffle to support our new Ceramics Learning Center. Bring already bisqued ware to glaze. Multiple kilns available. Sponsors include Leslie’s Ceramics and Ceramic Services. Potluck, bring food to grill.

Ceramic sculptures of precious babies and endearing children command our attention and entice our interest. Children cradling endangered species and babies bearing weapons challenge our sensibilities. Creed is a CCA alumn who exhibits her work throughout the United States. Her work is included in numerous public and private collections.
