DROP-IN POLICY: Per day drop-ins are allowed in some adult classes with the consent of the instructor or where noted in the description. Students may drop-in ONLY 3 times before they are required to purchase a half or full class (no other fractional classes allowed), unless otherwise noted.

Learn the basics of screen-printing. Become comfortable printing one and two-color print editions. Instruction tailored to individual skill level and desired projects. Demonstrations include screen prep, image development, stencils, layering & printing registration. Bring ideas, photos, drawings or any black and white image to first meeting. Work on either fabric or paper. This medium is a great way to create an alternative foundation for drawings and to add motifs and patterns to painting and sculpture. Materials list available.

beyond the classroom screen-print

Use the Center's well-equipped screen-print facility to work on your own projects for a maximum of 3 hours per week. Prerequisite: Must have previous screen-printing experience and/or have taken screen print class at RAC in the last year. See drop-in policy for restrictions.

Students enrolled in classes SU1S are entitled to 3 additional hours of studio time each week during scheduled supervised open studio hours. Students may use the studio only when safety supervision is provided and must sign in upon arrival at the studio. Studio time by appointment to be arranged with instructor.

Design cool creations from clothes in your closet! Use images from RAC’s collection and your own designs to create unique, personalized clothing. Bring a black & white drawing, photo or xerox with you to the first class. Basic techniques covered. Screen prep Day One. Days Two and Three will focus on printing. Repetition, patterning and color layering will be used to get rich built-up surfaces. Inks included. Students provide the clothes and inspiration.

Learn to set up a cost-effective home screen-print studio for small projects. Print cards, posters, t-shirts and more in a minimum of space with maximum fun. Do-it-yourself and professional equipment as well as the basics of screen-printing and creative problem solving will be covered. There will be a lunch break. Wear old clothes or bring an apron. $5 Materials fee due to instructor.
